The Hinckley School

MUNCIE, IN - Alden E. Kidder, 66, passed away on September 14, 2014           

          at Willowbend Living Center.

 

He was born September 26, 1947 in Delaware, Ohio, the son of Rev. Maurice A. and Isabel A. (Alden) Kidder.

Alden graduated from The Hinckley School, Hinckley, ME with the class of 1968 and received his Bachelor's Degree in English from Windham College, Putney, VT; Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston University and a Master's Degree in Expressive Therapy from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.

He worked as a licensed Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts and North Carolina before moving to Indiana in 2001. Alden was a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Friends Memorial Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Peace and Christian Social Concerns Committee.

Surviving are two sons, Gavin Kidder and Ross Kidder, both of Muncie and their mother, Lisa A. Pellerin of Muncie; his sister, Phyllis Alden of Key West, FL; one niece, Kelly Ward of Texas and one nephew, Nathan Ward (wife, Katie) of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joel H. Kidder.

There will be a memorial service at a later date and cremation will take place.
