UFO's

Way back in 1964, which was my only and senior year at Hinckley, I had a "happening" that will live with me forever. I will try my best to give you the story as best as I can remember, but you guys have to realize, that was a lot of years ago. As most of us who lived in Pike were into sports, we attempted, for health reasons, to watch what we allowed into our bodies, However, a couple of times a week, after Mr. Montgomery settled down, a number of us guys would slip out.

Our destination was a barn or an old building fairly close to Pike that sat next to a large open field. One night as a few of us were passing around the Colt 45, which was the drink of the year, and some smokes, just tobacco; a sighting was seen by all who were there. To this day I have been attempting to remember who was there, but my memory won't kick in. I know for sure that Peter Hurst was there as Peter and Colt 45 were like the "best" of friends. As we sat there we looked up and here coming across the field at about 200-250 feet high, was a group of seven lights, arranged in a circle and traveling extremely slow. The object stopped and proceeded to rise, stopped again and then backed away at incredible speed. As it backed out, it elevated and disappeared. All of this happened in about forty seconds. All who were there, looked at one another, stubbed out our smokes, dropped our cans of Colt and proceeded without saying a word, back to Pike, up on the roof and slipped quietly back through our exit window. Very little if any conversation was had in the next few days but we did agree that what we saw was what we saw! I have felt to this day, with 100% surety, that we all witnessed a UFO. No one can or will ever convenience me differently. This is my most vivid memory of Hinckley.
