I must admit that the tone of the present on-going email encourages me to think of others as concerns these vary valuable times. I cherish my memories there with my family not only that of my parents but of those in my classes, my sport teams, the dances in the dinning hall, movies, and just the diverse camaraderie of so many "kids".
I remember so much from being a first grader to graduating eleven years later. So many changes. On top of that was the time after a four year hitch in the Coast Guard that I spent there in the mid seventies while attending the University of Maine in Augusta prior to advancing to the Orono campus later on. I was hired to be the Librarian in Carnegie and thus got to know that group of students as well.
Classmate Gene O'Connor was hired as a teacher at that time (1976) so prior to his fatal car crash I was fortunate to spend some "adult" time with him. Change is something that I have had a growing difficulty with.
My fondest memories are those of my high school years where life began to open up and as far as I'm concerned isn't completely open yet! I feel blessed with my memories of those times and for the adventurist life I've lead since then. I'm also blessed with three children of whom I am most proud of and thus continue to have further blessings to look forward to.
